Over the years, I've entered several of my historical and fantasy costumes in county and state fairs. I haven't done so in the past few years due to an increased work load both at home and at work.

- Red Chinese cherry blossom brocade corset, with beadwork and vintage bird-shape sequins
First Place, Adult Apparel (Historic Costume), San Mateo County Fair: Velveteen Gown
- Brown cotton velveteen 1860s ball gown, red cherry blossom brocade detailing, ribbon flower trims, cartridge-pleated skirt waist

First Place, Historic Costume, Marin County Fair: Violet Ball Gown
- Dark violet 1860s ball gown with lavender accents and beadwork. I made everything you see, including the hair combs and jewelry.
First Place, Adult Apparel (Historic Costume), San Mateo County Fair: Autumn Tea Gown
- Hand-done box-pleated trim, separate undersleeves and collar
Third Place in top category of Award of Excellence, Best of Show Competition - Adult Wearing Apparel, California State Fair: Work Dress
- This is a tough competition: hundreds of BoS entries are sent in from across the state, but only a few are chosen to display and compete.

- 1860s blue/black/grey wool plaid dress
First Place, Adult Apparel (Historic Costume), San Mateo County Fair: Work Dress
- 1860s red plaid cotton work dress. I embroidered the haversack, as well.
